PRIORITIES OF THE EXHIBITION ACTIVITY OF THE IVANOFRANKIVSK CITY IN THE CONDITIONS OF FULL-SCALE WAR

Abstract

The article examines exhibitions that took place at various venues in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk during 2022 and 2023. Some of the exhibitions are dealing with the themes of war, emotional experience of loss and hope, detachment and support, which have a charitable component, are analyzed. The purpose of the research is to trace the main directions of exhibition activity in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk during 2022–2023 in the conditions of full-scale russian armed aggression in Ukraine. It is noted that despite the difficult conditions for creativity, the artistic exhibition life in the city does not freeze with the beginning of a full-scale invasion. But on the contrary, receives new impulses, becomes more concentrated in the depth of meanings, visions and individual experiences of experiencing war by creative personalities. Also at this time, the city becomes a refuge and a new place for the realization of creative initiatives of artists who were forced to leave their homes in the first months of the full-scale war against Ukraine, such as Kharkiv residents Hamlet Zinkivskyi, Nikita Titov, Buchan artist Serhiy Laushkin, Kyiv restorer and artist Olena Prykhodko-Kislyh, and others, who immediately entered the cultural context and joined the initiatives of local artists. The article examines the city's alternative exhibition venues and art events, realized in the spirit of modern art practices, reflecting artists' reflections in audio-visual forms and performative practices. The exhibition activity in Ivano-Frankivsk over the past two years proves that despite the extremely difficult times for culture, the artistic process in the city has intensified. Сreative and charitable initiatives of local and visiting artists, designers, volunteers contribute to the unification of creative personalities from all over Ukraine, attracting the public to experiencing complex war realities and rethinking painful themes through current art forms.
