PECULIARITIES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ART OF PAINTING IN THE POLTAVA REGION DURING THE YEARS OF UKRAINE'S INDEPENDENCE

Abstract

The article examines the peculiarities of the development of the art of painting in the Poltava region during the times of independent Ukraine. The author examines the transformations over time of artistic practices in the field of painting by leading artists. Changes in the stylistic features of painting practices of artists of Poltava region are also investigated. The art of Poltava Oblast, in particular painting, is a unique phenomenon of Ukrainian culture, at the same time it reflects national development trends. The painters of the Poltava Region turn to various artistic practices: from socialist realism to postmodernism. The article examines the peculiarities of the work of Poltava artists in the stylistics of neo-primitivism, abstractionism, classical realism (including its commercial, salon version), surrealism, various modern variations of folk art. The article draws attention to the transformation of creativity and stylistic changes of leading painters, as well as the influence of artists who came to Poltava and left a bright mark in the work of local painters. An analysis of the theoretical works of domestic and foreign specialists was carried out, which shows that the art of painting of the Poltava region is in the context of national and international trends in this field of art. Since the processes taking place in the field of painting are dynamic, this article is interesting as a forecast for the further development of art. The article is of interest both for specialists interested in the development of Ukrainian painting, practicing artists who directly participate in the artistic process, and for students and young artists who plan to connect their lives with this type of art.
