The article examines the main principles of the design of the territory of hotel complexes, which indicate the provision of a comfortable rest for guests. The relevance of this research topic lies in highlighting the principles and revealing the therapeutic effect of being in the natural environment, because natural elements, according to the definition of many specialists, are the specific component that allows to accelerate the recovery of a person. However, it should be emphasized that among a large number of researchers, the principles of creating the design of recreation areas on the territory of hotel complexes were hardly analyzed. Among many sources, there are materials indicating the importance of preserving the natural environment, but there is almost no material systematizing the use of the principles of forming the external space of the hotel territory. It should be noted that in the last decade, interest in this problem has increased significantly. In addition, there were examples of professionally developed design solutions for the territories of hotel complexes, which also indicate the relevance of this topic. Therefore, in the basis of the analysis of visual material on the topic of the study, certain author’s concepts are of interest, indicating the variety of principles and methods of using natural components in the design of the territory of hotel complexes. It is also worth noting that ideas about an inseparable connection with nature are constantly evolving, evolving and revealing new design possibilities for using them in creating an architectural and landscape environment in new forms, materials and combinatorial modeling with natural components. In addition, it can be stated that the existing innovative technologies of mass construction allow to support the formation of the design of hotel territories, taking into account the strong properties of natural materials, which can replace some structural elements in the construction of the interior space and go outside as a decorative element. These innovations are also facilitated by the use of cheaper artificial materials that have appropriate environmental quality standards and have external analog characteristics. Researching the latest project developments on the specified topic, it was found that modern technologies are constantly developing, practicing designers and architects offer the most diverse volumetric and plastic variations of the use of natural components in the design of the territory of hotel complexes based on the following principles: 1) formation of different levels of vertical spaces; 2) the principle of formation of different level horizontal spaces; 3) principle of harmony; 4) the principle of regular planning.
