Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate the changes in the field of contemporary art in Ukraine from the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries to the present day, focusing on the most significant artistic events that took place during the first quarter of the 21st century. The article is devoted to the study of the artistic imagery of the Ukrainian fine arts of this period. The main purpose of the study is to outline the main trends in the contemporary cultural process. To write the article, the author used historical and chronological, comparative historical (comparative), cross-cultural, socio-cultural methods and the method of art historical analysis. The scientific task of the proposed article is to study the art of Ukraine of this period and to try to pay more attention to those problems of the development of fine art that have not been studied sufficiently. The next task is to propose the publication of our own version in the context of its response to the events that took place in the artistic field during the first quarter of the twenty-first century and the reaction of the fine arts to these events. It should be noted that there is a lack of research in Ukrainian art history and cultural studies that would fully reflect the modern view of the peculiarities of Ukrainian fine arts of the first quarter of the twenty-first century in the terms of artistic and stylistic features of art. It is important to emphasize that during the last twenty-five years, there has been a significant transformation of the contemporary artistic language, which has been enriched by formative factors from related fields of knowledge over the past few decades. These are, first of all, artistic advertising, digital art, and artificial intelligence. These factors have combined a new acoustic performance of expressive possibilities, informational and aesthetic functions. The author’s version considers the value of a creative artistic product in today’s conditions of its creation, which emphasizes the national identity and interactivity of contemporary art. Under such conditions, its main function is to form the figurative and narrative structures of the creative language of today’s Ukrainian content. The art of the wartime appears as a fundamentally new model of fine art, never seen before.
