HISTORICAL AND ARTISTIC ASPECT OF THE ORIGIN OF THE TERM «PLASTIC ANATOMY»

The article examines the peculiarities of the formation of plastic anatomy in the historical and art-scientific aspect. The purpose of the article is to formulate a clear definition of the conceptual apparatus of the term «plastic anatomy» in its historical and artistic dimension, to periodize and compare the definitive stages of its formation over several centuries of Western European history; establishing the genealogical priority of the term and its actualization for the next period. In the course of the research, a significant complex of methodological approaches and practical methods was used to understand the genesis and development of plastic anatomy, considered in a historical-cultural and historical-artistic aspect. The historical-artistic approach, in which methods were applied, including those from the field of special historical disciplines, became the main one in relation to the development of the content of the research. The application of these methods expands the field of possibilities for an adequate understanding of the genesis and development of all artistic components of creation and the application of diverse creations from the field of plastic anatomy. For the first time, the author carried out an etymological analysis and clarification of the origin of the term «plastic anatomy», related to the concepts of «plastic» and «plasticity». The historical aspects of the formation and development of plastic anatomy as a special component of fine art are analyzed, the stages of its historical development are outlined. Rare, previously unpublished materials in Ukraine, particularly from the German political and cultural life of the 19th century, were included in the analysis. As a result of the analysis of the bibliographic sources available to us, it can be stated that the issues covered by this question are new for modern Ukrainian art history; the problem raised by us determines the necessity of conducting a comprehensive historical and art-scientific research in the field of plastic anatomy.
