Abstract

The purpose of the work is to investigate the specifics and factors of the development of digital illustration during the full-scale Russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine and the conceptual features and stylistic techniques in the system of creating an artistic image. The research methodology is based on system-analytical, comparative, figurative-stylistic, compositional-constructive methods. This made it possible to comprehensively investigate the specified problem and reach reasonable conclusions. The scientific novelty is characterized by the fact that for the first time the processes of development of digital illustration of the period of the full-scale Russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine are examined. The role of digital illustration as an effective tool of influence on the society that resists and suffers from military aggression is defined. Using the example of digital works of Ukrainian illustrators, conceptual directions and stylistic features are outlined. The study of the peculiarities of the development of digital illustration during the full-scale Russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine revealed its conceptual features, which consist in the presence of certain thematic vectors according to which artists implement their creative works, namely: war chronicles; rethinking certain events; glorification of heroes and heroic deeds; satire and irony. To implement author’s concepts, illustrators most often use such stylistic techniques as the simplification of forms and color palette, the style of comics and animation, photorealism, imitation of traditional artistic techniques and the combination of real objects with imaginary ones. Digital illustration during the Russian-Ukrainian war demonstrates great potential in the system of building artistic images due to special stylistic techniques and technical capabilities.
